UMMC Wins Women’s Euroleague
UMMC Yekaterinburg won its second women’s Euroleague title after thrashing Turkish side Fenerbahce in the final on Sunday.
The Russians, who were playing at their home arena, won the first quarter 26-11 and was only extending their lead throughout the game to register a 82-56 victory.
American forward Candace Parker top-scored for UMMC with 24 points, with French center Sandrine Gruda adding 19 more.
UMMC won the title in 2003 and finished third for five years in a row since 2008.
French team Bourges Basket claimed bronze by beating Slovakia’s Good Angels Kosice 65-57.
